Catalyst Rejuvenation

If catalyst poisons such as organic silicones and organic phosphorus are present in exhaust gases, the use of a guard-bed catalysts (pre-treaters) can significantly extend the catalyst life. In order to recover the performance of the poisoned catalyst, rejuvenation is an effective solution.
The process is effective only for poisoning that form non-volatile oxides on catalytically active precious metals (organic silicones and organic phosphorus). In addition, a sufficient performance recovery may not be expected for catalysts that have been repeatedly rejuvenated, or that have undergone thermal sintering.
