Methane Removal catalyst
- Methanation, which synthesizes methane from hydrogen produced from renewable energy and carbon dioxide, has virtually zero carbon dioxide emissions.
- However, if synthetic methane leaks during combustion, methane with a global warming coefficient as high as 21 times that of CO2 will be emitted.
- We are focusing on the development of catalysts that can decompose leaking methane. We also have experience using them to combustion surplus gases (methane, ethane, propane, etc.) during CO2 purification.
- We are currently improving the resistance to toxicity for stationary power generation facilities and methane processing from biomass.
